Library Subject Guide for students in the School of Computing, Engineering & the Built Environment.

UK based distance learners

This information is aimed at UK based students who are studying by distance learning (not on campus) and those on blended online courses who don't attend campus regularly. This includes UK Graduate Apprentices.

To help you find out about library and IT resources and services, make sure you complete the Introduction to Library and Computing Moodle module. This is part of the matriculation process. It won't take you long and it gives you all the information you need to get started with library and IT services. 

Off campus students living within the UK can:

When you complete matriculation you automatically join the library. You'll need your university login to access some of the available resources and this is the same username and password used for university email or Moodle.

If you need help using library resources, get in touch. See the myNapier Help Centre page for details of how to contact us. Let us know you're studying off campus, and send us as much information as you can if you're having a problem accessing a resource. Include screenshots if you can as this can help us identify the problem. 

Studying outside the UK

To help you find out about library and IT resources and services, make sure you complete the Introduction to Library and Computing Moodle module. This is part of the matriculation process. It won't take long and it covers all the information you need to get started with library and IT services.

Off campus students based outside the UK can:

  • Use Library​Search to find e-books. See the myNapier E-books page for more detailed information.
  • Access thousands of journals articles online. Go to the myNapier Finding Journals page for more details.
  • Find subject information for their area of study.

You'll need your university login to access some of the available resources and this is the same username and password used for university email or Moodle. We regret that we're unable to post printed Library materials or photocopies to students based outside the UK.
