This guide provides information and links to resources that will support you with finding the books, journals, and other information sources you need to complete your studies or research.

Getting Started

If you're a new student, we strongly recommend you read through the Library's Getting Started page to find out about our three campus libraries, opening times, borrowing books, finding your reading lists, printing and photocopying, and more. 

The Introduction to Computing and Library Services module on Moodle aims to give you the information you need to get started with Library and IT services when you first arrive at University. It is available 24/7 throughout the year and you can access it as many times as you like.

Watch the video below for a quick tour of Sighthill Campus Learning Resource Centre (LRC) which supports the School of Applied Sciences and the School of Health and Social Care.

Sighthill LRC is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The Helpdesk on LRC 2 is staffed from 8.45 a.m. to 4.45 p.m. Monday to Friday. For location and contact information and to find out more about facilities and services, see About Sighthill LRC

The Academic Skills Team at Edinburgh Napier University offer a range of workshops and one-to-one advice to help you to develop academic skills.  Support is offered in a variety of ways to suit your individual needs.

Information Services run regular, bookable training sessions to support staff and students to develop their academic and professional skills. Click on specific date below for details of available session(s) and the booking link(s). 

The Library runs a number of sessions relevant to students and staff in the School of Applied Sciences on such topics as literature searching, APA 7th referencing style, reference management tools, research skills, and academic publishing.
