Learning and Teaching: Journal articles

Finding journal articles

Search for a specific journal article at Edinburgh Napier

e.g. Wellington, J (2013) Searching for ‘doctorateness’ Studies in Higher Education 38(10) 1490-1503 DOI:10.1080/03075079.2011.634901

  • Go to LibrarySearch.
  • Select e-Journals (at the top left).
  •  Search for the journal by its name.e.g. Studies in Higher Education. Do not search by the title of the article or the author.
  • Click on View It to see whether the journal is available, and which years. In this example below, it is available from Taylor & Francis from 1976. Click on the link to access the journal on the database.

Studies in Higher Education on LibrarySearch

If the required journal does not appear in your search results, Edinburgh Napier University Library has not purchased online access. Alternatively, try pasting the article title into Google – a limited number of publishers make older articles available free online.
