Reference Management

EndNote is reference management software with features to:

• Find and import references downloaded from databases and LibrarySearch directly into your personal EndNote library
• Store, organise and search for references in your EndNote library
• Synchronize your references between up to three of your own personal computers, an online library, and your iPad or iPhone through EndNote Sync.
• Use tools that find PDFs for you throughout your search process. Then, easily read, review, annotate and search PDFs in your library.
• Insert in-text citations in a number of referencing styles, while simultaneously creating a Reference List with the Cite While You Write feature in MS Word.

EndNote 20 Desktop    

Endnote Desktop, the full version of Endnote, is available via the Software Download Service onto personal computers (Windows and Mac).

EndNote Online   

EndNote Online, (also known as EndNote Basic), is web-based and regarded as a more basic version, often used as a stand-alone version by undergraduates.  

Users can opt to use either, or both, products. Most users set up Endnote Desktop and synchronise it with Endnote Online for backing up their data.

There is also a free Endnote app for ipads and iphones available on the App Store. 
 

Access

Desktop users - from within your library, choose Edit > Sync - set up account

Web of Science database - click the EndNote link from the top menu bar to open your EndNote online library.

Users of Endnote X9 will notice a few changes to the updated version, Endnote 20.

New features include:

1. An enhanced modernized library interface.
2. Additional comparison fields for detecting duplicate references.
3. A redesigned PDF viewer with annotation tools.
